What we publish
HolidayDates.net is an independent calendar and planning resource. We organize public holiday dates by country, region, year, and language, then add weekday context, observed dates, full-year calendar views, planning notes, and links to public sources. The site currently focuses on China, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States for 2026 and 2027.
The site is designed for people who need more than a date in a search result: travelers comparing busy periods, distributed teams scheduling work, importers and exporters planning around factory closures, and families checking when services may operate differently. CSV and iCalendar downloads make the same calendar data easier to use in spreadsheets and calendar applications.
Our editorial method
We start with a government website, public agency, central bank, or other public authority that publishes or administers the relevant holiday calendar. The source used for each country appears on its calendar page and on our official sources directory. When a holiday has an observed date, a multi-day break, a substitute holiday, or a make-up working day, we try to distinguish those concepts instead of presenting them as interchangeable.
Holiday rules are not identical across countries. A federal holiday may not close every private business; a bank holiday may differ from a government-office holiday; and a lunar or religious date may be confirmed later than a fixed-date holiday. Page notes explain important scope differences. Future dates that remain subject to an annual announcement should be treated as planning information until the relevant authority confirms the arrangement.
Who the site is for
A traveler may need to know whether a famous attraction is likely to be crowded, while an operations team needs to know whether a factory, bank, customs broker, or customer-support desk can process a request. A school calendar and a national holiday calendar may also answer different questions. We therefore write for a broad adult audience but identify the scope of a date whenever the available source makes that distinction clear.
Multilingual pages are intended to make the same underlying calendar easier to use across teams. They are not meant to create different facts for different audiences. Country and year pages preserve source links and planning cautions so a reader can move from a translated summary to the authority responsible for the final date.
How updates and corrections work
Public holiday calendars can change after an exceptional government decision or a later administrative notice. We review important annual schedules and update page notes and downloadable files when reliable new information becomes available. A visible official-source link lets readers check what we used and identify a newer notice that may supersede it.
Readers can report an error through the contact page. The most useful reports include the affected country, year, holiday, page URL, and a link to the latest official notice. We review the source and, when a correction is needed, update the calendar page and related CSV or ICS file together.
Independence and limitations
HolidayDates.net is not a government agency and is not affiliated with the public authorities linked on this site. Those links are citations, not endorsements or partnerships. We do not determine whether a particular company, school, consulate, carrier, bank, court, or government office will close.
Use the site as a practical starting point, then confirm high-impact decisions with the organization involved. Flights, visa appointments, payroll, legal deadlines, banking, medical access, and shipping commitments deserve direct verification. Our terms of use explain these limits in more detail.
Privacy and advertising
The site uses analytics to understand aggregate usage and participates in Google AdSense. Our privacy policy explains the information that service providers may process, the use of cookies and identifiers, third-party advertising, and the choices available to visitors. Advertising does not determine which dates we list or how a source is described.
What we do not publish
We do not publish user comments, paid holiday listings, sponsored rankings, or anonymous calendar submissions. We do not ask visitors to create accounts, and we do not sell consulting, visa, payroll, or legal services. This keeps the purpose of each page clear: organize public calendar information, explain practical planning consequences, and point readers to a source they can check.
Advertising may support the operation of the site, but advertisers do not choose the countries, holidays, wording, or sources. If sponsored material is introduced in the future, it will be identified separately from editorial calendar content.
