How holiday dates are checked

We begin with a government, public agency, central bank, or other public authority responsible for the calendar. We record the underlying holiday, observed date, multi-day period, and make-up work day separately when the source provides them. Pages link back to the source so readers can verify critical dates rather than relying on an unattributed list.

A national calendar cannot describe every school, employer, bank, religious observance, or regional closure. When the scope differs, page notes explain whether an entry applies to government offices, financial institutions, private employers, or a specific region.
